[Jimbaux knows that he’ll do the right thing . . . . if the right thing isn’t fear.]
Hey, my friends. How are all of you? Let me know, a’ight? It’s been more than a week since the last post, and there is a very good reason for that, as some of you already know.
Straight Up Rappin’
. . . And it’s about time. My attention for the last week has been focused on recording and producing a rap song, and then making a ‘video’ for it (which is really nothing but still images.) Based on one of the old raps I did in the classroom, I spoofed “Wipe Me Down” from Lil Boosie, a Baton Rouge rapper, in my new song “Write It Down” that I did with the Super Hero Supreme.
Here is the song: “Write It Down“
Like that? When you were in school, did you have a teacher who could spit rhymes like that!
It’s already had great reception, especially among my former students. Even Webbie (another Baton Rouge rapper, and partner of Lil Boosie) is following me on Twitter now.
Please make sure you show this song and video to everyone! I’ve had people tell me that they can’t stop saying, “Mountains, hills, plateaus, plains!” It’s far funnier if you know the lyrics to the original song.
Here’s one of the images I used in the video without all of the words written on it like in the video.
This is the southbound Kansas City Southern Railway train H-KCSH at the South Howe Hill entering, Heavener, Oklahoma, USA, in February 2007. It’s a picture that I took more than four years ago but had never published (even privately, even as that’s a contradiction-in-terms, but work with me here) until now.
Stormy Southern Saskatchewan Sky
Yeah, and here’s one of my Saskatchewan storm shots. Enjoy.
Let me know what you think of the song, a’ight? Notice that there are already some comments in the YouTube video. The fourth one is, as it seems, from a former student.
What’s Next?
That’s a good question, one that I’ve been asked several times. Here’s what I can tell you. My next rap (if things go according to plan) will be yet another spoof of a song from a Louisiana rapper. That’s all I’ll say for now. In the meantime, if you like what you see here, please join the Facebook fan page to keep up with updates.
Bye!
