UP Train ILBNO, A United Flight, And The NOPB Passenger Special – 11 August 2007

by admin on 2017/08/11

Upon leaving the weight room at the Elmwood Fitness Center on the afternoon of Saturday 11 August 2007, I saw some interesting trains, and I decided to, of course, photograph them.

That’s Union Pacific railroad train ILBNO (Intermodal – Long Beach, Ca., to New Orleans, La., interchanged with CSX) descending the eastern approach of the Huey P. Long Bridge, and, six minutes later, we see it stopped near the foot of the bridge and allowing the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad’s rolling party to roll up the bridge.

I guess that this will be interesting.

Let’s have another look at the ILBNO, which got abolished sometime around 2013 when the traffic was routed through Memphis.

Meh.  Hey, look, it’s a plane!  Wherey’at, Porkchop?

About a half-hour after it ascended the bridge at this spot, we see the NOPB passenger special returning back down to the ground.

Here’s a better view of the short train.

I understand the frustration over the things that Jim Bridger did, but I do miss this little train.

Twelve minutes later, we are at Jefferson Highway.

Hey, man.

Next, eight minutes later, we’re in New Orleans, by Cooter Brown’s, back on the home NOPB rails.

That car looks great.

They again come out to pose.

Five minutes later, we end the day at Walnut Street, as the crowd enjoys being photographed.

Let’s get a cropped view.

New Orleans area readers, if you know any of these people, please let them know about these images.

That’s all.
