Here are five pictures taken over the course of three minutes on the morning of Sunday 19 November 2006.
We are at East City Junction on the Norfolk Southern “Back Belt” line – the New Orleans Terminal Company – in New Orleans, Louisiana, watching Amtrak’s northbound Crescent depart from the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal trackage.
That’s a westbound manifest train – almost certainly one that is or would soon become a Union Pacific Railroad train – parked on the other mainline track there.
Let’s have a look the other way, presumably before we take it back to the crib to watch CBS Sunday Morning.
That’s nice. Now, let’s have one look at that freight train before we call it a morning.
Thanks. One year to the day earlier, I got a set of pictures from Waggaman and Schriever.
